Salman Khan has declared his desire to remake Salim-Javed’s Sholay and Deewar with Amitabh Bachchan.
Sholay has influenced Indian cinema and film fans. Recently, Salman Khan declared his ambition to remake the action-drama written by his father Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. Salman said in an interview with Farah Khan on Prime Video’s YouTube channel that he would like to play three roles in a remake of the Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra blockbuster. ‘Temptation was my co-star’: Jaya Bachchan refused to star in Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘male-centric’ Zanjeer.

Salman said, “I’d make Sholay and Deewar.” Farah asked which Salim-Javed film he would remake. When asked if he wanted to play Jai or Veeru, Zoya Akhtar, Namrata Rao, and Javed Akhtar all said, “He is Veeru.” Salman added, “Also Jai, I can play both. Gabbar too.”
Sholay also starred Amjad Khan, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, and Jaya Bachchan in important parts. Along with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, it is one of India’s longest-running films.
