While the plot of Stree (2018) centred on a female ghost who suffered injustice during her mortal life, Sarkata, the headless antagonist, is the main subject of the film’s sequel. In Scene 2, Sarkata kidnaps ladies who have a voice of their own.
On August 15, 2024, Independence Day, Stree 2 debuted on theaters with popular Hindi movies like Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein. The most recent entry in producer Dinesh Vijan’s expansive horror-comedy world, which has also produced movies like Bhediya and Munjya, is Stree 2.
Amar Kaushik on the achievement of the Stree 2 box office
In a recent interview, the director told PTI, “We had a party and enjoyed ourselves too much. Although we were sure the movie was wonderful, we weren’t prepared for it to receive such high reviews. I don’t get enough sleep. I’ll sleep first because I didn’t get much sleep, and then I’ll start planning my next movie.”
He claimed that he had been following Stree 2’s narrative from the beginning. Amar stated, “We spent four to five months working on the script for Stree, and we spent nearly two and a half years working on Stree 2.” Prior to starting work on Bhediya, we started working on it. We were considering how to advance the Stree universe and unite them all (a cameo by Varun Dhawan and Akshay Kumar). We had produced sixteen drafts.
