A CISF constable smacked Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh airport for her views on farmers’ protests.
Actor Swara Bhasker said violence is wrong. However, she noted the irony of actor-BJP MP Kangana Ranaut getting smacked by a CISF constable after earlier justifying violence on social media. A CISF constable smacked Kangana at Chandigarh airport over her controversial statements about farmers’ protests. Swara discussed the event and Kangana’s comments on the film industry’s lack of support in an interview with Connect Cine.
“Anybody who is a reasonable person will say that whatever happened with Kangana was wrong,” Swara Bhasker remarked of the June 6 incident. Nobody will defend Kangana’s assault. It was wrong to happen to her. Assault is wrong. People told Kangana’s right-wing followers to be quiet because they justify lynching.
Kangana was smacked, which should not have happened, but she is alive and has security. Security guards have shot individuals dead in trains, lynched them, and beaten them in riots in this country. Why do you defend your acts? Kangana’s case isn’t yours.”
Swara, who worked with Kangana in Tanu Weds Manu and its sequel, condemns her for instigating violence and advocating for “almost genocide.” Swara stated people were recycling her Oscars tweets defending Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock.
Kangana has justified violence on her platform, which is the issue. Previously banned tweets, including one that practically called for genocide, emerged. She also supported Will Smit slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars by stating she would have slapped someone if her mother or sister was abused. So now what? Her mistreatment was wrong, and the perpetrator was suspended and punished. Thus, justice has been done, but the perpetrators of the last decade’s killings are free, she continued.
The Hollywood actor hit back at nasty remarks after the event. Kangana advised her detractors to examine their “psychological criminal tendencies.” The Mohali police filed a FIR against CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur under Indian Penal Code Sections 323 (voluntarily causing pain) and 341 (wrongful restraint) after a complaint.
