Pratik Gandhi, who releases Dedh Bigha Zameen today—his third release this year—has found that impersonating Mahatma Gandhi is difficult, even for Gandhi. Last night, Pratik sustained an injury during filming for Applause Entertainment’s Gandhi, directed by Hansal Mehta. The injury could have been worse.
Pratik Gandhi adds, “It is a bit painful” after Gandhi set accident.
I checked in with Pratik, who answered, “Yes, I’m better now. I was hit with a ceramic pot while practicing a new scenario. Right-hand knuckle was deeply sliced. I had sutures yesterday night.”
Pratik said, “It is a bit painful. It should improve in a few days, hopefully.”
Pratik reflects on his fruitful time with Applause Entertainment, stating that “Scam 1992” was a pivotal moment in his career. I use high expectations to motivate myself rather than stress. Scam changed my life!”
Pratik attributes career turning points to Applause Entertainment’s Scam, Do Aur Do Pyaar, and Gandhi. Gandhi is the largest production of my career, whereas Do Aur Do Pyaar is my first major rom-com. All of them are dear to me. I love working with a visionary like Sameer Nair and his efficient staff at Applause Entertainment, he said.
