Celebrity actress Tisca Chopra recently discussed film business ageism. Chopra confessed to Galatta Plus that “someone younger” replaced her days before a film production, which was disappointing.
The actress said, “In 2016, a particular director strung me along for a bit of time. We prepared costumes, lines, and everything. He said they were going with someone younger four days before the shoot. He tried to excuse it by saying the producers called. But I realized it was just… That wasn’t acceptable anymore.”
The actress lamented the film industry’s youth-over-experience bias. She added, “By that time, I also realized that I had been ignoring things in my head for some time. Working with great directors has allowed me to observe and adopt their processes.
