In the middle of the ongoing preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, Gautam Gambhir, a former cricketer and BJP MP from East Delhi, has announced his retirement from active politics. Gambhir’s announcement comes simultaneously with the ongoing preparations for the elections. The following is an excerpt from a post that he made on his official handle on X on Saturday morning: “I have requested that party president JP Nadda relieve me of my political duties so that I can focus on my upcoming cricket commitments.” I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for providing me with the amazing chance to serve the population. “Jai Hind it!”
